Melissa Abraham
B.Mus.Ed., L.T.C.L., MACE
Melissa is a highly respected educator, and a talented classical and jazz musician. She feels blessed to have performed and conducted in the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and USA for 20 years. Like most of us, she is no stranger to the great joys and terrible sorrows that life, and loss, can deal to us.
Her skills and training have often been called on to bring inspiration and integrity to the final services for her lost loved ones, and professionally for other families as well.
Through these experiences, she has learned intimately the vital emotional role a memorial event plays in our lives, and the long-term issues that avoiding the grieving process can bring. All too often she has found few resources to help personalise the process, other than verbal suggestion and the standard hymnal and readings.
And so she began this journey; a passion to create a single-source guide, in a very user-friendly format, that meaningfully acknowledges the delicate balance of emotional and practical needs at this time.
Her exhaustive research and consultation was guided by many skilled hands, including funeral directors, religious leaders, secular celebrants, psychologists and of course many generous individuals and families. the result is a comprehensive roadmap that brings together all aspects of funeral planning to assist a family through this stressful period of decision making.
"When We Remember" focusses on the critical first week following a death - an emotional crisis period when clear information and guidance are most needed. This unique, generous and highly acclaimed resource draws on many decades of experiences, particularly in understanding the power of music and prose in the rituals of our lives.
